Coronavirus outbreak: Total COVID-19 positive cases mount to 1024, 27 deaths

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced a 21-day lockdown in the entire country effective from midnight to deal with the spread of coronavirus, saying that “social distancing” is the only option to combat the disease

New Delhi: The total number of active COVID-19 cases in the country has climbed to 979, including 86 cured, discharged and migrated cases and 25 deaths.

So far 15,24,266 passengers have been screened at various airport. The highest number of positive coronavirus cases were reported from Kerala followed by Maharashtra. While there are 176 COVID-19 cases in Kerala, Maharashtra has 153 cases till March 27.
