Covid-19: Delhi records 992 new cases, positivity rate rises to 2.70%

Some experts believe that the fall in the number of cases can be linked to the low number of tests that were conducted on Monday due to the festival of Holi.

New Delhi: Delhi reported 992 fresh cases of COVID-19  in the past 24 hours, nearly 1,000 less than the previous day. The positivity rate in the national capital rose to 2. 70 per cent.

According to the official data, today’s cases have taken Delhi’s caseload to 6,60,611 and the death toll to 11,016. Some experts believe that the fall in the number of cases can be linked to the low number of tests that were conducted on Monday due to the festival of Holi.

Only 36,757 people were tested on Monday in comparison to 68,805 tests conducted on Sunday. The recovery rate has increased marginally to 97.20 per cent. The city’s cumulative positivity rate stands at 4.55 per cent.

4,832 COVID patients under home isolation across the city right now, most of them are asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms.

The number of active cases are 7,429 which includes patients under home isolation. There are 1,903 containment zones.
