Delhi Police DCP & her team go beyond the call of duty to help Pak refugees, provide food & masks to fight Covid-19

Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) North West Vijayanta Arya and her team have gone out of the way to extend helping hand to these refugees from Pakistan.

New Delhi: As the nation battles Coronavirus epidemic, here is a team of police personnel setting new benchmarks in reaching out to the needy and underprivileged class.

Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) North West Vijayanta Arya and her team have gone out of the way to extend helping hand to these refugees from Pakistan. DCP and her team are providing all essential items to these refugees living at a camp in Majlis Park and will continue to do for the 21-day lockdown period.

Delhi Police adopts refugee camp for 21 days

There are about 250-280 families living in this refugee camp, whose livelihood got severly impacted due to 21-day Lockdown.

Delhi DCP Vijayanta Arya believes that in such critical times, we all should united as a nation and make extra effort to help the poor and needy.

“We got information that these people are in great need. We have decided to support people of this camp during the 21 days of the lockdown period. We will provide the essential items including food and medicine,” Arya told the media.

Refugee camp residents grateful to Delhi Police

Nehru Lal, one of the refugees living at the camp told media, “We have come from Pakistan’s Sindh. There are around 280 families. We have not able to go out for work. Delhi Police provide us masks and ration. They are saying that they will give us food throughout the lockdown period. We thank the Delhi Police for this.”

On March 25, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a 21-day nationwide lockdown via televised address to contain the spread of coronavirus.
