104 year woman trounces Covid-19 twice, wins all-round applause; hospital staff give standing ovation (VIDEO)

As per the reports, apart from beating SARS-CoV-2 two times, Carmen Hernández has also defeated an aggressive form of skin cancer.

New Delhi: There have been several people around the world who overcame COVID-19 virus not once but twice. But one of them is very special. She doesn’t have any super power but she is a superwoman.

Carmen Hernández, a 104 year-old woman of Colombia has defeated COVID-19 virus once again on April 8, 2021. Seeing her strength and will power, the staff of hospital she was admitted in gave her a standing ovation for overcoming the dangerous disease once again.

Carmen was in the Intensive Care Unit of an Rafael de Tunja University Hospital for 21 days after which she was discharged on Thursday. Staff applauded her by clapping for her and giving her a standing ovation while she was being discharged from the ICU on a hospital bed.

Carmen was earlier diagnosed with the virus in June 2020, she was administered with the Covid-19 vaccine in February 2021.

A health worker at the San Jose nursing home, Gina Gomez told the local media that Carmen Hernández has an “excellent physical capability” because she survived the coronavirus infection not once, but two times since the pandemic shook the world last year. She said, “she is an elderly patient with an excellent physical capability because she resisted the virus for the second time. Thank God she has done very well and has beaten this virus.”

Yamit Noé Hurtado, the director of the hospital also talked to the Caracol Radio, in his interaction he noted that the 104-year-old gives “hope” to everybody else considering her advanced age. Hurtado said, “Precisely because of her advanced age, for us she is a hope. This woman managed to come out fully recovered from the coronavirus in this first reinfection. We had to give him assistance in the ICU for 21 days.”
