Maharashtra still remains the worst-affected state in the country with over 8,500 cases, followed by Gujarat and Delhi.

There can even be life-threatening complications if plasma therapy is not used as per guidelines. Until and unless this is approved as a therapy for COVID-19, it is unjustified to spread any claim about the effectiveness of this therapy

With 1,543 new cases, there are 29,435 positive cases in India till now. So far, 6,869 people have recovered including 684 people who recovered yesterday.

While 300 districts are non-hotspots, 129 districts with significant COVID-19 cases have been declared as hotspots, the Union Minister informed. In the past 24 hours, no fresh case has been reported from 16 districts.

Delhi's tally has also crossed the 3,000 mark with 3,108 cases with 877 patients cured and 54 patients who died due to the highly contagious virus.

ICMR has asked the States/UTs to stop using rapid-antibody tests and return them to the supplier as the kits supplied by Chinese firms were faulty.

During the daily media briefing, Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, here said that 16 districts in the country, which earlier had cases, have not reported any fresh cases for the last 28 days.
