ABVP submits memorandum to UGC Chairman over admissions in new session & other subjects

The CBSE Board has decided on the evaluation methodology for Class 12 students and all the State Education Boards are to go ahead in the direction by adopting the same method.

New Delhi: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has submitted a memorandum to the Chairman of the University Grants Commission that pertains to various subjects like the pending examinations in universities due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, admission to the new academic session and the possible resumption of higher education classes.

Recently, the CBSE Board has decided on the evaluation methodology for Class 12 students and all the State Education Boards are to go ahead in the direction by adopting the same method.

Keeping this in mind, ABVP in its memorandum have suggested points that include conducting offline/online entrance examination in between the last week of July to August, conducting undergraduate and postgraduate intermediate semester examinations as soon as possible, compulsorily conducting examinations of final year students on the basis of alternative combination of papers, resuming the new academic session for technical and traditional courses as per the circumstances and other issues.

ABVP National General Secretary, Nidhi Tripathi said, “The education sector has suffered a lot in the last two academic sessions owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The learning process that takes place in students has also been hampered due to the pandemic. We have submitted a detailed memorandum to the University Grants Commission giving importance to issues like starting the academic session of students on time and other issues. We hope that the University Grants Commission will soon take steps in the larger interest of the students.”
