CBSE Board Exam Date Sheet 2023: Update on Competency based questions, Practical exam and more

Once the official date sheet is released, it would be available on the web portal of the CBSE for candidates to download.

New Delhi: As the year is coming to an end, students and parents have their eyes set on the release of CBSE Class 10th and Class 12th Board exam date sheets.

In an earlier announcement, the CBSE board conveyed that central board exams for classes 10th and 12th will commence from February 15 onwards. The crux for the students of batch 2022-2023 is going to be the competency-based questions.

Earlier, Annapurna Devi, the Minister of the state for Education responded to a question in Lok Sabha about the introduction of competency-based questions. She made it clear that for board exams of the academic session of the year 2022-2023, 30-40 percent of the questions will be competency-based.

The new pattern for the classes 10th and 12th will include objective, constructive response, assertion, and reasoning-based questions.

The decision was made as a part of the new National Education Policy (NEP), 2020. Schools are advised by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to keep up the tab for further recommendations regarding the pattern of education.

The NEP 2020 has raised some eyebrows ever since it was announced. NEP seeks to replace the classic 10+2 system for a 5+3+3+4 curriculum. In first, the Government has extended itself to include pre-schooling in its major decision-making process.
