CBSE Class 10 exam cancelled; Class 12 exam postponed: Decision made due to spike in Covid19 cases, says Ramesh Pokhriyal

A decision on Class 12 Board Exams will be made on June 1 after reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the country.

New Delhi: PM Modi has made the students happy and their parents relieved by announcing a big decision on the uncertain future of CBSE Board Exams 2021. PM Modi today chaired a high level review meeting to discuss whether examinations should be held during the developing coronavirus situation.

After the meeting, the decision was announced that CBSE Board Exams for Class 10 has been cancelled whereas the Board Exams for CBSE Class 12 have been postponed.

Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal also made the same announcement on his twitter account.

A decision on Class 12 Board Exams will be made on June 1 after reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the country. The minister assured the students that if the exams will be held then the announcement will be made 15 days prior to the first exam.

Minister also cleared that a mechanism will be developed by the Board to evaluate and prepare the results of Class 10 students. And if any student is not pleased by his result based on that mechanism then they will be given the chance to write an exam when the circumstances allow.

Over 21,50,761 students were scheduled to appear in Class X CBSE borad exams while 14,30,243 students are supposed to take the Class XII exams.

CBSE, in normal circumstances, schedules Board exams for Classes X and XII from February 15 to the first week of April.
