New Delhi: Prabhas & Kirti Sanon starrer film Adipurush, opened in a record number of theatres in India & globally and scripted new records in minting money but within a week of its release, the steep fall in numbers are setting a new precedent in the cinematic history.
The movie collected Rs 300 crores worldwide in just 3 days, accumulating about Rs 100 per day but the big controversy & subsequent negative publicity has costed the film dearly. Almost a week has passed after Aidpurush’s release but it is now still struggling to cross Rs 400 crore.
The film in its first was a blockbuster movie but within a week, it’s turning out to be disaster. During promotions, it created wave of excitement with many admiring Prabhas portraying the role of Adipurush but the coarse dialogues of Hanuman is inviting a lot of wrath & criticism from people.
In its India business, Adipurush collected a whopping Rs 87 crore, 65 crore & 69 crore respectively on first three days but since then, its earnings has been on a decline. It’s day 7 collection marked a new low, with earnings reported at a paltry Rs 5.50 crore.
The film must pick up in coming weekend and bring back the audience to theatres, else it may be seen struggling to break even.
Film analysts believe its over-ostentatious dialogue, which may have deliberately introduced to gain attention has backfire and the makers are paying a heavy price for this. The film, reportedly made at a whopping budget of over Rs 600 crore is staring at big losses and may find it hard to recover the expenses.
