Ajmer 92: Hard-hitting trailer tells the story of 250 girls who were tortured, blackmailed and raped by powerful individuals

New Delhi: Ajmer 92 is one of the most controversial movies of this year.

Just like The Kerela Story, the movie also deals with a sensitive issue as it claims to tell the forgotten tale of 250 ill-fated rape victims of the 1992’s Ajmer serial rape case.

Today, the makers of the movie have finally dropped its compelling trailer which attempts to throw light on the story of a large number of young girls who were blackmailed and subjected to grievous sexual atrocities by politically powerful people in Rajisthan’s Ajmer district.

As the movie’s 2.45 min-long trailer begins, we see a helpless middle-aged couple trying to inspect if their daughter in Law has been raped or not.

Later, we find a journalist asking ‘What happened to those 250 ill-fated girls?’ which is followed by him telling the heartwrenching tale of 250 unlucky girls(many of which committed suicide) who fell victim to some powerful political people who entrapped them, blackmailed them, and then raped them numerous times.

How the brave and determined Journalist exposes the dark acts of the wrongdoers and helps the rape victims and their families seek justice by getting the culprits punished for their obnoxious acts is the remaining of the story that we will only get to see in cinemas by Friday.

The might be a hard-hitting movie is believed to be based on 1992’s infamous Ajmer mass gang rape case and centres around the story of 250 school-collage girls who were raped, tortured and blackmailed by a group of influential people that also included some members of Ajmer Sharif Dargah’s caretaker Khadim family.

It is directed and written by Pushpendra Singh and Suraj Pal Rajak respectively. In the leading cast, the movie stars Karan Verma, Zarina Wahab, Manoj Joshi, Sumit Singh and Rajesh Verma.

The reliance entertainment presentation is now all set for its theatrical release on 21 July.
