‘Bambai Meri Jaan’ trailer OUT: 1960s Mumbai underworld is brought to life

In this riveting mobster thriller, good and evil face off in the age-old conflict that has fascinated audiences for millennia.

New Delhi: The trailer for Farhan Akhtar’s much-anticipated web series ‘Bambai Meri Jaan’ has been released. The series, which is directed by Shujaat Saudagar, will debut on Amazon Prime Video on September 14, 2023. In this riveting mobster thriller, good and evil face off in the age-old conflict that has fascinated audiences for millennia.

Kay Kay Menon, Avinash Tiwary, and Kritika Kamra play starring parts in the show. The protagonist, Dara Kadri, is a young gangster whose father, Ismail Kadri, is a police officer with integrity. In Bambai Meri Jaan, the underworld of Mumbai is born against the background of a newly independent India.

In the opening of the trailer video, Ismail narrates how his son fell into the hands of criminals. The bond between a police officer cum father and his criminal son is at the centre of the series trailer, which also reveals a world of gang warfare, firearms, and deception. When Ismail fought to keep Mumbai safe from criminal influence, his son gave in to it and became a vicious member of Mumbai’s criminal underworld.

The web series’s trailer was posted by Farhan Akhtar on Instagram along with the following caption, “An honest father, an insatiable son, and the consequences that lie within #BambaiMeriJaanOnPrime, trailer out now.”

Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, and Kassim Jagmagia of Excel Media and Entertainment are behind the production of Bambai Meri Jaan, which was written by S Hussain Zaidi. Kay Kay Menon, Avinash Tiwary, Kritika Kamra, Amyra Dastur, and Nivedita Bhattacharya are just a few of the talented actors that appear in the play, which was developed by Rensil D’Silva and directed by Shujaat Saudagar.

On September 14th, the 10-episode Hindi Original series will debut exclusively on Prime Video in India and across 240 countries and territories, including subtitles in numerous Indian languages and international languages.
