Sunny Deol: Known for his famous dialogue ‘ Dhaai kilo ka hath’ from the film Damini, the actor needs no introduction. The 66-year-old actor is celebrating his birthday today. His real name is Ajay Singh Deol. Sunny Deol has given many hits to the film Industry with his hit action-packed scenes and Power-packed dialogues. Let’s find out more about his actor on his birthday. The actor has worked in more than 90 films in over four decades. Son of the Legendary actor Dharmender, Sunny Deol started his career in 1983 in the movie ‘Betaab’ which was a big commercial hit in the Indian Cinema. He was paired opposite Amrita Singh in the film.
After betaab, the actor had a series of continuous hit films. Movies like Arjun, Paap ki Duniya, Tridev became major blockbuster on the box office. Rajkumar Santoshi’s Ghayal released in the year 1990 became a turning point in the actor’s life, which also won the Film fare award. Sunny Deol received the Best Actor award for the film and his dialogues in the film received great recognition. After Ghayal, he was highly appreciated for his role in Damini which was released in the year 1993 and won many awards. The actor won the Best Actor as well as the Best Supporting Actor award.
Apart from Ghayal, Damini and Tridev, he also received lot of fame for his brilliant acting in darr, Jeet, Ghatak and Ziddi. The actor was lauded for his spectacular acting in the film Border and Gadar ek Prem katha. He also tried his hands in comedy with the film Yamla Pagla Deewana. The actor took a break after this film and came back with the sequel of Gadar ek Prem Katha which also became a blockbuster at the box office.
The actor also tried his hand in Politics and joined BJP in the year 2019. He also won the Lok Sabha elections from Gurdaspur constituency against Sunil Jakhar of Congress. He is married to Lynda Deol who belongs to an Anglo Indian family. The couple has two sons. One of his sons directed the movie ‘ Yamla Pagla Deewana’ One of his sons recently tied the knot in the month of June.
