New Delhi: The much-anticipated film ‘Leo,’ starring Thalapathy Vijay, has landed in controversy following the release of its first single, ‘Naa Ready.’ A complaint has been registered against Vijay and the makers of the film, accusing them of glorifying drug usage and rowdyism in the song.
‘Leo,’ directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is generating considerable buzz ahead of its release in October. However, the recent unveiling of the song ‘Naa Ready’ on Vijay’s birthday has stirred trouble for the team. Activist RTI Selvam, from Chennai’s Korukkuppettai, has filed a formal complaint against Thalapathy Vijay and the ‘Leo’ team, alleging the glorification of drug usage and rowdy behavior in the song.
Selvam submitted his petition on June 26, following an online complaint filed the previous day. He has urged the court to take action against Vijay and the team under the Narcotic Control Act. Notably, the Chennai police have been organizing various events across the city to combat drug usage, with actors Karthi and Vijay Antony participating in these initiatives.
‘Leo’ is an action thriller written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Alongside Thalapathy Vijay, the film features Sanjay Dutt and Trisha in prominent roles. Scheduled for release on October 19, coinciding with the Ayudha Pooja weekend, the movie has garnered attention for its high-octane storyline.
Gautham Vasudev Menon, Action King Arjun, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Priya Anand are part of the film’s supporting cast. Produced by Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy, ‘Leo’ boasts a captivating musical score by Anirudh Ravichander.
