New Delhi: Ayushmann Khurrana is back with the second instalment of the rom-com film ‘Dream Girl’. The makers released a teaser of the film, which shows Ananya Panday in lead with Ayushmann. The actors were also recently spotted filming for the ‘Dream Girl 2’ in Mathura. The film is directed by Raaj Shaandilya, with most of the cast intact from the previous instalment.
The teaser shows Ayushmann in the character of Karam, talking to his friends about Bollywood going through a bad phase. There is a conversation around the #BoycottBollywood trend and the actor asks his friends if he should do ‘puja’ for the same. Introducing the actors, Ananya Panday enters at the end and marks the beginning of a new love story. The film follows Karam, a small-town boy who is trying to make it big and eventually falls in love with Pari. This leads to a major turn of events where in lies a twist in the film.

Apart from the lead cast, the film also features Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Seema Pahwa, Manjot Singh and Abhishek Banerjee. The first instalment starred Nushrat Bharucha and proved to be a super-hit as the audience loved the concept, dialogues and quirky characters brought on screen, with Ayushmann voice changing skills on top.
The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor, under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures and will hit the cinemas on 29 June 2023, which happens to be Eid. Ayushmann’s Karam aka Pooja is expected to win hearts again. Meanwhile, ‘Dream Girl’, released in 2019, is available on Zee5.
