Fahadh Faasil’s Maamannan goes neck-to-neck with Nikhil starrer ‘Spy’ on Day 1, here is how much the movies earned on their opening day

New Delhi: This weekend, we saw a massive clash at the box office when two Fahadh Faasil’s political thriller Maamannan and Nikhil Siddhartha’s Spy arrived in the cinemas on the very same day.

Despite the head-on clash with each other, both movies managed to clock some impressive amount of money on their opening day at the box office. Let’s have a look at the opening day performance of both movies.

Spy’s Opening Day collection

Despite getting mixed reviews from film critics, Garry BH’s directorial debut was well received by the audience on its first day at the box office as the Nikhil Starrer managed to register a decent opening at the box office by collecting Rs 6 Crore on its Day 1.

Besides Nikhil, the movie features a star-studded cast of Iswarya Menon, Abhinav Gamatam, Sanya Thakur, and Makarand Deshpande.

Speaking of Fahadh Fasil’s Maamannan, the movie has received very positive word-of-mouth from moviegoers and critics. However, even after receiving better reviews and rantings than Nikhil’s Spy, Mamanns box office collection remained the same as Spy on its first day as the political thriller also minted Rs 6 Crore on its opening day at the box office.

Other than Superstar Fasil, Vadivelu, Keerthy Suresh, and Udyanidhi have also featured in pivotal roles in the movie.

Kartik Aryan turns the clash threeway

Following this solid neck-to-neck competition amongst the two heavyweights of the industry on their opening day, it will be interesting to see who amongst the two will trump and emerges victorious by the end of the opening weekend.

Meanwhile, in the Hindi belt, both the movies will also have to face competition from Kartik Aryan’s recent release Satyaprem ki Katha which has already become the third-highest opener for the actor by minting almost Rs 9.25 on its Day 1 at the box office.
