New Delhi: The Advance booking of Sunny Deol’s highly awaited movie Gadar 2 was finally opened by its makers on Thursday.
Considering its clash with Akshay Kumar’s upcoming OMG 2, the makers of the Anil Sharma’s directorial took a brave step and opened the movie’s advance bookings with more than a week left in its release.
However, this risky step came as a boon for the makers as the movie recorded humongous advance booking figures on the opening day itself.
Gadar 2’s Stupendous Advance Booking on Day 1
As per the reports, the Sunny Deol starrer sequel to Gadar: ek prem Katha sold approximately 59,000 tickets by 3rd August’s midnight. This means that the movie has already ensured a gross collection of Rs 1.55 crore and that too, on the basis of just the very first day of advance booking.
Breaking up the National chain figures, we see that PVR alone had the highest sales of tickets (10, 000) for the opening day followed by INOX and Cinepolis. The combined figure of these three national chains stands at a whopping 21000 which clearly hints at the movie’s hype and craze amongst the moviegoers.
Gadar 2 Day 1 Collection Prediction
If the impressive advance booking trend of day 1 continued for the rest of the week, one can expect Gadar 2 to shatter records at the box office on its opening day.
Despite its head-on clash with OMG 2, the Sunny Doel Starr was already expected to open with at least double-digit numbers on its release date of 11 August. However, now looking at the movie’s increasing hype and current advance booking trends, it is predicted that the movie can start its box office run with a whopping collection of Rs 27-30 Crore on its opening day.
If that happens, Sunny Deol Starrer will become 2023’s second-highest opener only text to Shah Rukh’s republic day release Pathan which coined Rs 53 crore on its Day 1.
Sunny to Face South Indian Challenge?
Other than Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2, The major movies that will try their best to hinder Gadar 2’s box office success will be South Indian Superstar Rajnikant’s Jailer and Chiranjeevi’s action thriller Bhola Shankar which will be hitting the big screens on 10 August.
