New Delhi: Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan, known for his enviable looks, unmatched acting skills and enviable looks, turned 48 on Monday, January 10.
The actor made several screen appearances as a child artist in various films during the 1980s and even worked as an assistant director for some time in his father Rakesh Roshan’s films.
Roshan made his acting debut as a lead actor with year 2000 release ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’, which turned out to be an immense box office success, resulting Hrithik to become an overnight sensation.
Through his journey of 22 year in the Hindi film industry, the actor has also rejected several movies which later went on to become blockbuster hits including SS Rajamouli’s ‘Bahubali’.

1. Lagaan
The superhit movie released in the year 2001, which was also India’s official entry to the Oscars was first offered to Hrithik. Later the lead role of ‘Bhuvan’ went to actor Aamir Khan.
2. Swades
Before superstar Shahrukh Khan, the movie was first offered to Hrithik who had turned down the offer at the time. The movie was not just a financial success but also critically acclaimed.
3. Pink Panther 2
The actor was offered a role in the Hollywood movie which also featured his ‘Dhoom 2’ co-star Aishwarya Rai, but he opted out as his character didn’t met his expectations.
4. Rang De Basanti
Hrithik was approached by the makers for the 2006 movie for the role of Karan Singhania, which was later played by actor Siddharth. The movie also stars Aamir Khan, Soha Ali Khan, R Madhavan and others.
5. Bahubali
The immense success of SS Rajamouli’s ‘Bahubali’ on the domestic front as well as in the overseas need not to be reminded to anyone. The lead role in the film was first offered to Hrithik, who turned down the movie for it being a ‘South’ film.
