Hema Malini’s birthday bash: Rekha recreates ‘Kya khoob lagti ho’ magic of 1970s (VIDEO)

Hema Malini’s daughters Easha & Ahana Deo attended the event and took centrestage with actress ringing in 75th birthday in Mumbai.

New Delhi: Hema Malini, the yesteryear actress and Bollywood’s adorable ‘Dream Girl’ celebrated her 75th birthday party in Mumbai on Monday night. Her birthday celebrations was a star-studded evening with actors & actresses of all generations converging at one venue, under one roof to extending birthday greetings to the legendary actor.

Rekha, one of her contemporary actress who attended the bash, set the mood of evening by grooving to an iconic song from Hema’s old film. As the two actresses shook leg briefly over popular song ‘Kya Khoob lagti ho’, the audience went gaga and made a big shout out to the duo.

A video of the starry night, with Rekha and Hema twinning on stage has gone viral on social media. In the video, Rekha can be seen matching steps while making gestures at Hema. At one time, Rekha can be seen pinching Hema Malini’s cheeks while the latter reciprocating the adulation with similar moves.

‘Kya Khoob Lagti Ho’ is a song from 1975 film Dharmatma. The movie starred both Rekha and Hema Malini along with Feroz Khan, who was also the director of movie.

Both the septugenerian actresses stole the show at the birthday bash. Their evergreen avatar energized & enthused the fans as the latter cheered for the two actresses.

The event saw presence of many Bollywood celebrities, including Madhuri Dixit, Rani Mukerji, Shilpa and Shamita Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Esha Deol at the party.

Among the noted guests from the Hindi film industry included Rekha, Jaya Bachchan, Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla, Raveena Tandon, Rani Mukerji, Vidya Balan, Rajkumaar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana, Fardeen Khan, Rakesh Roshan, Jeetendra, Sanjay Khan and wife Zarine Katrak.

How Hema wished Rekha, earlier this month

Call it co-incidence or whatever, the leading lady of their times share October as their birth month.

On Rekha’s birthday, the 75-year-old actor wrote in a moving post on Instagram.

Time to celebrate this gorgeous, beautiful, evergreen lady’s birthday, though for her, time has stood still and she never ages.
