New Delhi: Karan Johar is indeed the most humourous and quirkiest host of all times, and his talks and insights regarding Bollywood celebs have always been a matter of interest for entertainment lovers.
Now in a recent interview with an English news daily, the filmmaker has opened up on why love stories of newly weds Katrina Kaif-Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor are his favourite.
Calling himself the ultimate matchmaker of Bollywood, Johar said, “Why I love the Vicky-Katrina affair is that it came out of nowhere, which is exactly why it was so beautiful. I like their romance also because it started on this couch”.
Talking about the initial romance phase between Ranbir and Alia, he further said that their love story also began on the couch of his chat show and hence he would like to take the full credit for their pairing and announce himself Sima Taparia of the industry.
For the unversed, actress Katrina Kaif in the previous season of Koffee With Karan had confessed that she would like to work in a movie with Masan actor Vicky Kaushal, to which Vicky had adorably reacted by fake fainting.
After several months of dating each other, the duo tied knot in December 2021 in a lavish wedding affair at Rajasthan’s Ranthambore.

In the same season, Karan had asked actress Alia Bhatt during an episode, “If your swayamvar were to take place today in Bollywood, name the men you would love to have contest for you?”. To this, Alia had instantly named Ranbir.
Currently, Alia and Ranbir are not just married but also expecting their first child as per an announcement made by Bhatt recently.
