New Delhi: Almost ten years after Jiah murder’s suicide at her Mumbai home, her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi was on Friday acquitted by special CBI court for lack of evidence. Sooraj along with his mother Zarina Wahab was present in the court premises when the judgement was pronounced.
Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi, earlier booked for driving her to take the extreme step, was today acquitted of abetment charge.
Following the court order, Sooraj issued his statement. Though, he refrained from speaking to media on him walking free of the charges, he took to his Instagram stories and wrote, “The Truth always wins.” He also added a heart & folded hands emoji while writing a hashtag “God is great.”
On the other hand, Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia Khan was not convinced with the court verdict. She maintained that it was not suicide but a murder.
She told mediapersons that she will not lose hope & will drag the actor in higher courts.
“If need arises, I will go to Supreme Court for seeking justice,” she reportedly told newsmen.
Jiah Khan was found hanging at her home, ten years ago in June 2013. Though, initially this was assumed as a suicide case, her mother accused Sooraj & his family of harassing her daughter. Following this, a case was lodged against Sooraj. He was arrested over abetting in Jiah’s suicide & was later released on bail.
