New Delhi: The son of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan was arrested on the grounds of the Mumbai cruise drug case in October last year. After several court hearings, drama, and 26 days long in custody, Aryan was given bail by the Bombay High Court on October 28. Since then none of Aryan’s family members spoke about it in public. However, in the 12th episode of Koffee With Karan 7, Gauri shared and finally spoke about her son’s arrest. Gauri shared the Koffee With Karan couch with Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives stars Bhavana Pandey and Maheep Kapoor.
Gauri Khan breaks silence on Aryan Khan’s arrest
Addressing the case indirectly on his show, Karan Johar told Gauri, “It has been such a tough ride for him, and you all have emerged so strongly. I know you as a mother. We are members of the same family and I am a member of the same family. And, it hasn’t been easy, and Gauri, you have emerged stronger than ever.”
To this Gauri Khan spoke about Aryan Khan’s arrest for the first time and stated, “Nothing can be worse than what we have just been through. But where we all stand as a family, I can say that we are in a great space. We feel loved. All our friends, and so many people whom we didn’t know, so many messages and so much of love. We feel blessed. We are grateful to everyone who helped us.”
About Aryan Khan’s case
Aryan Khan hit the headlines in October last year for the wrong reason. The superstar’s son was arrested and kept in custody in the drug case. He was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) from a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast in October 2021 on the allegation of drug consumption. He was kept at Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail for 22 days.
However, Aryan was declared clean of all charges due to the lack of sufficient evidence in the drug case for which he spent more than 20 days in custody. He walked out of jail once the paperwork was complete. According to Arbaaz Merchant’s statement, who was also arrested in the drug case stated Aryan did not have drugs on him besides asking Arbaaz not to carry any of them.
Aryan is a graduate of Fine Arts, Cinematic Arts, and Television Production from the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California in the United States. He did his schooling in the United Kingdom and Mumbai. He has two siblings, sister Suhana and brother AbRam.
