Koffee With Karan 7: Karan Johar says can’t manage to bring 3 Khans to show, also opens up about nepotism

New Delhi: ‘Koffee With Karan’ host Karan Johar recently opened up about celebrities getting in trouble when they say something on his show. In an interview with NDTV, he told that actors may not get into trouble by saying things somewhere else but, they might face backlash for saying things on his show.

“People are waiting to attack them because they said something on ‘Koffee With Karan’ I am doomed by the reputation of my show,” Karan Johar said. He also told in that interview that bringing the three Khans of Bollywood, namely Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, to the show is something he cannot manage. Karan said that it was Ranbir Kapoor who informed him that he will not be coming to the show for its seventh edition.

“The three Khans are not coming on this season, I don’t have the power to pull them. I can get them for a party but not on my show. I can’t manage two also out of the three Khans. Ranbir told me ‘I am not coming’. He said I will say something and I may be in some trouble so I don’t want to come,” the host said.

The talk show and the celebrity guests there have been through various controversies. One such controversy happened with cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul when they were also suspended by BCCI.

‘Nepotism’ has been an issue that does not leave Karan Johar. Talking about nepotism, he said, “Nepotism is a topic that started on this show and it’s never left me till now or the industry. I am trolled for it and abused for it and now and now I am not bothered by it.” He also shared that when he was hosting season 1 of the show, he was more concerned about how he looked or how he was carrying himself, but now while hosting season 7, he says he has become more of himself.

The show will stream on Disney+Hotstar on July 7. Koffee With Karan Season 7 will feature Samantha Prabhu, Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh and many other celebrities as guests.
