Lock Upp: Actor Karanvir Bohra opens up about being “In The Worst Debt Of My Life”

Recently, TV actor Karanvir Bohra was revealed to be in debt and would have considered suicide were it not for his family.

New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut hosted show Lock Upp is making headlines since the first day. The controversial show with its determined contestants is proving themselves every day with basic amenities to survive in the show. Amidst rivalry and friendship that is often witnessed, and to avoid the elimination process, the contestants reveal their secrets, which not only touch the heart of the contestants but also the audience.

Recently, TV actor Karanvir Bohra was revealed to be in debt and would have considered suicide were it not for his family. In a clip shared on the actor’s Instagram account, Karanvir tells his fellow contestants Geeta Phogat, Saisha Shinde, and Sara Khan that is he currently suffering from debt and also he has cases filed against him for the non-payment of dues. He also stated that anybody else in his place would have been suicidal. He concludes by saying, Lock Upp is a “lifeline” for him.

“I am in the worst debt of my life,” Karanvir Bohra says, “From 2015 to right now, mai jo kaam leta hu wo chukane ke liye (since 2015, whatever work I accept is to pay off that debt). I feel so sorry for myself and for my family – what am I giving them. Agar meri jagah koi aur hota to (had anyone else been in my position), he would have committed suicide,” stated Karanvir. He also said that there were three or four cases against him “for not paying money back.” These cases “have gone,” Karanvir revealed.

Karanvir is married to model-VJ Teejay Sidhu and is blessed with three daughters – twins Raya and Vienna, and a third daughter named Gi.

Teejay has remained with Karanvir through his hard times and encourages him on every step. She keeps on posting updates on Lock Upp regularly. After Karanvir was tagged as ‘loser’ on the show, the enraged Teejay tweeted, “If a successful TV actor who doesn’t win reality shows is a ‘loser’ then what about reality show winners who didn’t become successful actors? Are they losers too?”

Karanvir was part of several TV hits including Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Qubool Hai, and the second season of Naagin. He was also a part of reality shows Nach Baliye 4 and Bigg Boss 12.
