New Delhi: Today, March 22, 2024, the much-anticipated comedy Madgaon Express finally hit cinemas. This is Kunal Kemmu’s first feature film as a filmmaker.

Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi, and Avinash Tiwary are among the actors featured in the film, which also stars Nora Fatehi, Upendra Limaye, and Chhaya Kadam. With Kunal Kemmu at the helm and pen, this talented group finally clicks. Madgaon Express, produced by Excel Entertainment and featuring Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, is sure to be a hit with moviegoers.

Plot

A group of three friends go on a series of comical escapades in this film. It takes viewers on a wild ride as three friends’ vacation to Goa goes in a completely different direction, full of surprises, fun, and adventure.

Review

Madgaon Express, directed by Kunal Kemmu—an actor whose name has become almost associated with humour—is nothing short of a top-notch comedic extravaganza.

The plot is interesting because, while it does celebrate friendship, it also deftly weaves in elements of drug lords, the criminal underworld, and smuggling against the less-than-glamorous background of Goa. For his first feature film, Kunal deserves praise for a job well done.

The film Madgaon Express is well-made, with good intentions, a good story, and solid acting. The characters in Kunal’s work are authentic, genuine, relatable, and hilarious.

A lot of laughter is had watching the picture because of how crazy, chaotic, and noisy it is. Despite the seeming lack of order in Kunal’s narrative, there is some logic to his tale. Madgaon Express’s greatest achievement is the fact that it is so chaotic and bizarre, a veritable jumble of ideas, that it makes you laugh out loud every so often.

Regarding the performances, Divyenndu showcases his comedic touch once again in his role as Dodo. The role of Pinku, played by Pratik Gandhi, sometimes becomes his own spectacle. Acting characters with nuance and intensity has been his strong suit. Similarly, Avinash Tiwary’s performance is commendable. Nora is spot-on with her character.

Madgaon Express is a perfect watch if you’re looking for an authentic group experience that will make you laugh out loud.
