New Delhi: Hindi film industry witnessed a big revival on the Box Office (BO) and also saw cinebuffs returning to the cinemas, thanks to blockbuster hit ‘Pathaan’ of Shah Rukh Khan. A couple of movies later like Selfiee & Shehzada failed to sustain the momentum but Ranbir’s latest flick has once piqued interest of movie-goers. It’s the second Bollywood film entering the Rs 100 crore club.
Here, we take a look at the upcoming big Bollywood flicks in theatres and also a few coming on OTTs starring big faces.
1) Bheed – Theatres
Release date – March 24
Bheed, a Anubhav Sinha directorial, is all set to hit theatres on March 24. The movie with some big star casts, portraying the real poignant stories of 2020 Lockdown has build high hopes, though Friday openings will decide its outcome. The movie captures the story of ‘biggest migration’ of citizens after Independence while contagious virus wreaks havoc. The movie actors are Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza, Ashutosh Rana, Pankaj Kapur and Kritika Kamra.
2) Operation Mayfair – Theatres
Release date – March 24
It is another big-ticket Bollywood movie starring the likes of Jimmy Shergill. The movie is an investigative thriller, directed by Sudipto Sarkar, also starring Vedieka Dutt in lead role.
3) Chor Nikal ke Bhaga – Netflix
Release date – March 24
Chor Nikal ke Bhaga is a heist-hijack drama with a romantic twist. With Yami Gautam & Sunny Kaushal in lead roles, the film is about the couple planning a heist mid-air but their whole plan goes awry as the plane is hijacked by terrorists.
4) Kanjoos Makhichoos – Zee 5
Release date – March 24
This is a comedy-drama scheduled for release on Zee 5 on March 24. The OTT-scheduled flick is about the struggles of a middle class man against the illicit & corrupt system commanded by powerful people.
5) Pathaan – Amazon Prime
Release date – March 22
Much like theatre turnaround, Pathaan’s release on Amazon Prime has infused a fresh excitement among the OTT watchers. As the SRK-starrer movie released on Amazon Prime, viewers were also thrilled to watch the deleted portions of film in theatres.
6) Hunter Amazon
Release date – March 22
This is another movie with big star case, releasing on Amazon Mini TV today. The 8-part series is packed with thrilling scenes and stars Suniel Shetty as ACP Vikram Sinha.
