Mumbai cruise case: Aryan Khan ‘promised to be a good citizen,’ said this during NCB counselling

During counselling, Aryan Khan stated to serve the nation and avoid wrongdoing, Sameer Wankhede is leading the investigation.

New Delhi: Following the raid at cruise rave party case, Aryan Khan has been held in jail since October 8. He is under counselling by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) where he “promised to be a good citizen and serve the country,” said sources.

The cruise that was headed from Mumbai to Goa was raided by NCB sleuths who caught a couple of persons with either narcotics in their custody or having consumed it. Apart from Aryan Khan & Arbaaz Merchant, six others were arrested in the case.

Reportedly, Aryan Khan was counselled by the agency’s top IRS officer, Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, who is leading the investigation.

Wankhede said that during counselling Aryan stated that he would “make everyone proud of him,” avoid wrongdoing, and would serve the poor and deprived.

“We counsel every arrested accused and it is done for two to three hours daily during custody,” said Wankhede on Aryan Khan.

The counselling sessions include priests from a various religious background and social workers in the field of fighting drugs.

“The accused are given the Gita, Quran, or Bible based on their faith,” said Wankhede.

After Aryan Khan’s bail was put off, he spoke to his parents, Shahrukh and Gauri Khan on a video call. The jail officials said that those who are in custody during the Covid-19 period are granted permission to make two video calls to their family in a week.

“Aryan was on the call for 10 minutes with his parents, and a jail official was present with him during the call,” said a jail official.

So far, a total of 20 people, including two Nigerian have been arrested in cruise rave party cases.

Aryan Khan’s lawyer argued that no drugs were in his possession and he was not even present there when the drug was seized during the raid. However, the NCB said Aryan Khan’s WhatsApp chat reveals he had linked to an international cartel and he sourced drugs regularly.
