Munawar Faruqui: Comedian’s ‘wrong joke’ ends him up in Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp [Watch]

Munawar Faruqui has become the second constant of Kangana Ranaut’s hosted show Lock Up on Monday after Nisha Rawal.

New Delhi: In the latest development on Ekta Kapoor’s reality show ‘Lock Upp’, hosted by Kangana Ranaut, a controversial comedian Munawar Faruqui is all set to entrain the viewers on the show. The show will air on ALTBalaji and MX Player.

The OTT platforms on Tuesday announced Faruqi as the new constant of the show on its social media platforms.

Releasing the poster of Faruqui, ALTBalaji, wrote, ”Asli jail se mili bail, ab Kangana Ranaut ke jail mein hoga khel.”

Talking about the show, Munawar said, ”Though it is going to be a tough and challenging journey for me. I am happy that Lock Upp also gives me an opportunity to be myself in a real set-up.”

Both OTT platforms shared a promo featuring Munawar Faruqui. In the promo, the comedian can be seen entering a stage while the audience starts cheering for him. Furthermore, he is seen in the lock-up wearing handcuffs inside a jail.

Besides Faruqui, Kangana is also seen in the promo in a gold sequin pantsuit. She apparently made her appearance as the jailor.

14 celebrities yet to be announced

The organisers of the show on Monday announced Nisha Rawal as the first constant of the show. Rawal is an Indian television actress and model. She gained fame in the entertainment industry through the show ‘Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki’.

According to the official information, the show will be having 16 celebrities as prisoners and Kangana will be seen as a jailor. She will also host the show.

In the show, the celebrities will be in lock up for 72 days where they will be given different tasks to get even basic amenities.

Lock Upp will go on the floor on February 27.
