New Delhi: Netflix has unveiled the much-anticipated trailer for Lust Stories 2, giving viewers a tantalizing peek into the anthology’s four captivating short films that explore the multifaceted aspects of lust. This film, directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Konkona Sen Sharma, R. Balki, and Sujoy Ghosh, features an ensemble cast including Kajol, Vijay Varma, Tamannaah Bhatia, Neena Gupta, Amruta Subhash, and Tillotama Shome, among others.
While the trailer doesn’t reveal much about the plot, it hints at Vijay Varma’s infatuation with Tamannaah’s character. Despite being married, their reunion after a decade ignites a passionate connection. Real-life couple Vijay and Tamannaah showcase undeniable chemistry that is sure to enthrall audiences. On the other hand, Neena Gupta takes on the role of a grandmother in a rather unconventional manner. She suggests her granddaughter, played by Mrunal Thakur, engage in a sexual relationship with her fiancée before marriage, sparking disapproval among other family members. Neena Gupta’s character believes that a “test drive” helps in making the right choice.
Another story stars Kajol and Kumud Mishra, with the latter exhibiting a wandering eye, particularly when it comes to domestic help. Kajol’s character, his wife, ingeniously plans to teach him a lesson. The final short film delves into the themes of class divide and female sexuality, featuring Amruta Subhash and Tillotama Shome.
Regarding Lust Stories 2, director R. Balki emphasizes the significance of lust in relationships, deeming it natural and crucial. He aimed to create a lust story that can be enjoyed by families together, challenging the notion that lust-themed narratives are only suitable for solo viewing. Konkona Sen Sharma, another director in the anthology, highlights the empowering aspect of women embracing their freedom and taking control of their lives. She collaborates with co-writer Pooja Tolani to break away from societal norms, crafting a compelling tale. Sujoy Ghosh expresses his satisfaction with the performances of Tamannaah and Vijay, as they bring his vision to life, and he hopes audiences will relish their on-screen chemistry.
Lust Stories 2 is set to premiere on Netflix on June 29, offering a captivating exploration of lust and its various shades within intimate relationships.
