New Delhi: Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha who played the role of ‘Fareedan’ in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Heeramandi’ is celebrating her 37th birthday today. Sonakshi was lauded for brilliantly performing the character of ‘Fareedan’ in the film. This film is a huge success at the box office and is currently streaming in Netflix. Sonakshi was born on 2nd June 1987 in Mumbai. She is the daughter of veteran Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. Her father is also involved in Politics and serving as a member of BJP. The ‘Heeramandi’ actress is the younger of 3 children in her family. She has twin brothers Luv and Kush Sinha. Sonakshi studied from Arya Vidya Mandir and has graduated in a Fashion Design program in a Women’s Polytechnic.
She has also worked as a Costume Designer and has designed clothes for a film ‘Mera Dil Leke Dekho’ in 2005. Sonakshi made her Bollywood debut in 2010 opposite Bollywood actor Salman Khan in the film ‘Dabangg’. The film was a huge success and broke all the records at the box office. The ‘Dabangg’ actress had to lose 30 kgs to fit in the shoes of a village girl in the film.

She was last seen in the web series ‘Heeramandi’ and also ‘Dahaad’where she is seen playing the role of a cop. Both web series did well at the box and received positive from the viewers.
