OMG 2: ‘Slap Akshay Kumar to get 10 Lakh’, says Hindu outfit after getting infuriated by the actor for portraying Lord Shiva in the film

On its first day at the box office, The Akshay Kumar starrer opened with a decent Rs 10.30 crore collection

New Delhi: Raged by Akshay Kumar playing a Lord Shiva-like character in his recently released film OMG 2, the Rashtriya Hindu Parishan Bharat demonstrated huge protests in the city of Agra.

Voicing their anger against Akshay’s controversial movie, the Hindu outfit burned his effigies and OMG2’s movie posters in broad daylight. The organisation even went on to declare that anyone who will slap or spat on the actor will get a 10 lack rupees reward from them.

Later, the president of the organization Govind Prashar told The Print that he is really upset about how Akshay tried to make himself look like lord shiva with dreadlocks and a Shiva-like outfit.

He explained that he got particularly infuriated upon seeing Akshay Kumar Eating Kachories (a North Indian fast food) and bathing in a dirty pond while being dressed up as Lord Shiva all the time. According to Govind, such a casual depiction of Lord Shiva is an open insult to Hinduism.

The organization is now demanding a complete Ban on the Pankaj Tripathi starrer from both the centre and the CBFC.

OMG 2 Box Office

Meanwhile, despite triggering the religious sentiments of a few, OMG 2 received rave reviews from the critics as well as the audience who lauded the film for bravely throwing light on a number of bold topics which are still considered taboo in Indian society.

On its first day at the box office, The Akshay Kumar starrer opened with a decent Rs 10.30 crore collection. However, it trailed way behind its rival Gadar 2 which was also released on the same day and received a Bumper opening at the Box office by minting a whopping sum of Rs 40 crores.

Now, with the extended weekend approaching, it will be interesting to see which of the movie will emerge as a winner in the clash of the sequels.
