New Delhi: The worldwide box office is heating up for Christopher Nolan’s biographical drama Oppenheimer. Film trade expert Sumit Kadel estimates that the movie earned $93.7 million in the international markets outside of North America in addition to $80.5 in North America’s million domestic gross. As of July 23rd (Sunday), the film’s international box office total has reached $174.2 million.

Sacnilk estimates that the film made roughly Rs 50 crore (about $8 million) in its first weekend in India. On Sunday, the film’s total occupancy was 56.66% in English-language theatres and 26.46& in Hindi-language theatres.

On July 24th, statistics indicating the worldwide box office in the top markets were shared on Girish Johar’s Twitter page. Data reveals that the film earned $13.3 million in the UK, $7 million in India, $6.4 million in France, $6.3 million in Germany, $6.3 million in Australia, $4.5 million in Mexico, $3.9 million in Saudi Arabia, and $2.5 million in Brazil, among other countries.

About the Film

Physicist, J. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb, is the subject of Oppenheimer, which is a biographical film. Oppenheimer had a critical role in the Manhattan Project, which created the first nuclear weapons. The Manhattan Project, conceived by and headed by the United States and aided by the United Kingdom and Canada, was an effort to design and manufacture the world’s first nuclear weapons during World War II.

Production Company Universal Pictures has signed on to finance the picture, which features major performances from Cillian Murphy, Florence Pugh, with others. On July 21st, the movie competed with the fantasy comedy Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, in theatres throughout the globe.
