Oscars 2023: ‘Last Film Show’ in run for Best International Feature Film

The Academy announced a list of shortlisted entries for 10 categories on Wednesday night and this was followed by the makers reacting to this praiseworthy event.

New Delhi: Every dream of a successful film begins and ends with an Oscar and as the ‘Last Film Show’ (Chhello Show) joins the running to actually fulfil that extraordinary dream we are here to discuss all about it. Nominated for the Best International Feature Film category, the film revolves around the magic of movies that so solidly represents the Indian culture.

The Academy announced a list of shortlisted entries for 10 categories on Wednesday night and this was followed by the makers reacting to this praiseworthy event. While Pan Nalin the director of the film shared stories of friends and family reacting to the news while Siddharth Roy Kapur’s production house shared the news.

Dheer Momaya, also a producer of the film under the banner Jugaad Motion Pictures shared a heartfelt message for the team and the viewers expressing that he is on the “verge of spontaneous combustion”. The Jugaad Motion Pictures banner in their reaction post mentioned Bhavin Rabari, the prodigy who is the face of the film saying “3000 auditions in over 200 villages of Gujarat. Within that, one catches the light.”

Richa Meena, who played Baa, shared a post saying that it just took them 21 years to be there and the film has made it in the Top 15 ‘International Feature Film’ category at the 95th Academy Awards. She further wrote that Indians know how to shower the movies with the admiration and that power of cinema is reflected in the film.
