OTT new releases: Naseeruddin Shah, Lara Dutta’s ‘Kaun Banegi Shikharwati’ to stream on Zee5

Naseeruddin Shah will be seen essaying the role of a king while Lara Dutta, Soha Ali Khan, Kritika Kamra, Anya Singh will play his daughters.

New Delhi: A Fresh multi-starrer web show ‘Kaun Banegi Shikharwati’, featuring Naseeruddin Shah, Lara Dutta Bhupathi, Soha Ali Khan, Anya Singh, and Kritika Kamra among others, is all set to release on ZEE5 in January, 2022.

The upcoming series is a comedy-drama with a unique take on a dysfunctional royal family. Naseeruddin Shah will be seen essaying the role of a king while Lara, Soha, Kritika, Anya play his daughters.

Actors Raghubir Yadav, Cyrus Sahukar, Varun Thakur and Anurag Sinha will also be seen in the pivotal roles in the show.

Directed by ‘Bazaar’ fame Gauravv Chawla, The series is produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Emmay Entertainment.

Lara Dutta, who was recently seen in Hiccups And Hookups with actor Pratik Babbar, shared teaser on Instagram handle with caption, ”

The official Instagram page of Zee5 share the teaser and wrote, “chalo bulawa aaya hai, #Shikharwati ke Raja ne bulaya hai. #KaunBanegiShikharwati coming this Jan’22 on #ZEE5 (sic).”

The shooting for the web-series will commence from Wednesday in Mandawa, Rajasthan. Setups have been prepared in a hotel in the town.

According to the reports, the web series will be shot in different areas of Shekhawati. 

Mandawa’s artistic havelis on the silver screen have made a lot of recognition in the country and abroad. Arrangements for the shooting can easily be done here.

Shooting here costs less than Mumbai and other places, and saves time as set build up is rarely required. 

According to the information received from the police, only the permission given earlier by the collector for shooting has been kept unchanged. Along with Mandawa in the district, shooting will also be done in Mukundgarh, Nawalgarh, Dundlod.
