OTT releases: Check out movies and web series released for this week’s binge-watch

This weekend, more fascinating films and web shows will be available on platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+Hotstar, Zee 5, Lionsgate Play, MX Player, Voot, and others.

New Delhi: In the OTT world, the second week of February is jam-packed with heavy action, passion, humor, and suspense. While Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor makes his online world premiere with Farzi, Kajol’s family drama Salaam Venky and Tamil megastar Ajith’s Thunivu make their OTT debuts. This weekend, more fascinating films and web shows will be available on platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+Hotstar, Zee 5, Lionsgate Play, MX Player, Voot, and others.

Farzi (Prime Video)

Shahid Kapoor is creating his OTT world premiere with Raj and DK’s ‘Farzi’ sequence. Vijay Sethupathi,  Raashi Khanna, Bhuvan Arora, Kay Kay Menon, Amol Palekar, and Regina Cassandra also star in the eight-part plot line. “Farzi,” invoiced as a rapidly and edgy cop drama, centered around an underdog street artist’s attempt to defraud a system that favors the wealthy. Shahid, who has appeared in movies such as Kaminey, Haider, Udta Punjab, Padmavaat, and Jersey, stated that Farzi was the ‘greatest chance’ to team up with the ‘best filmmakers’.

Hansika’s Love, Shaadi, And Drama (Disney+Hotstar)

Salaam Venky, starring Kajol, is set to make its digital debut appearance. The slice-of-life drama hit the screens on December 9. The film is based on the real-life story of Kolavennu Venkatesh, a young chess player with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). He passed away in 2004. Aahana Kumra, Prakash Raj, Rahul Bose, Anant Mahadevan, Rajeev Khandelwal, and Priyamani also play important roles, and Aamir Khan makes a brief appearance.

The Luminaries (Lionsgate Play)

The Luminaries, an award-winning new series, is a journey secret set during the 1860s gold rush in New Zealand. Following Anna Wetherell’s voyage as she lands in New Zealand from London to begin a fresh start after being suspected of murder. The show, starring Eve Hewson and Himesh Patel, is chock-full of twists and turns, with the fact finally revealed in the finale episode.

Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities (MX Player)

Enter a romantic fantasy world. Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities is a C-drama series. Su Mo (Li Yifeng), a Prince of the Sea Gods, and Bai Ying (Chen Yuqi), two delightful humans meet in a peaceful realm and are instantly drawn to each other. However, as their romance develops, they cross frontlines and inflame negativity between the two competing tribes, resulting in unpredictable consequences. Su Mo masks herself as another being after being evicted, while Bai Ying decides to revamp both realms and put them in danger. Will their efforts succeed in reuniting them? It is a 50-episode series with new shows released on a regular basis.

Sin (Aha)

“SIN” follows Nandita, a young woman who was compelled to say adieu to her secret love and eventually ends up in a bad marriage with a perverted man named Anand. When Nandita’s former love reappears in her life, she must browse the challenges of her heart as well as the competing desires of the people around her. Concepts of love, authenticity , and the power of second chances are explored in this heartbreaking story, which is set against an initially assumed social criticism on relationship issues. Deepti Sati, Thiruveer Reddy, and Jennifer Piccinato lead a strong cast.
