New Delhi: Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali is all set to star in a new limited series titled ‘The Plot’.
Ali will also be serving as an executive producer on the upcoming series, ordered by Onyx Collective on Hulu.
A report by Variety suggests, Abby Ajayi’s eight-episode series is an adaptation of Jean Hanff Korelitz’s novel of the same name.
In the upcoming project, Ali is expected to play the role of Jake, a struggling author who will take on to any opportunity that could help revive his other drowning career.
When such once-in-a-lifetime opportunity arrives at his door, Jake commits an act of literary theft that gives him life changing results.
The suspense drama will revolve around Jake’s attempts to protect himself and the fame he has gain with his ‘act of literary theft’ as he’s threatened by someone who knows his little secret.
Executive producers include Ali, Mimi Valdes and Amatus Karim Ali through their company Know Wonder, Layne Eskridge’s POV Entertainment and Kristen Campo through their respective deals with Endeavor Content, Hanff Korelitz and Ajayi, who also serves as showrunner.
The series will stream on Hulu in the US, Star Plus in Latin America and Disney Plus in all other territories.
In India, the series is will stream on Disney+ Hotstar.
