Remembering Irrfan Khan on his Death Anniversary: A glance at the most watched films of the legendary actor

Some of his best films were ‘Life of Pie’, ‘Lunchbox’, ‘Paan Singh Tomar’, ‘Maqbool’, ‘Haider’ and ‘Ek doctor ki Maut’.

New Delhi: “Life is very busy these days. There are too many people, and everyone wants what the other has” this was the most popular dialogue of the legendary actor Irrfan Khan. He was one of the few actors who used to deliver dialogue with his eyes. The actor was born in a Muslim family in Rajasthan. His father used to run a Tyre business. Few people know that Irrfan Khan was fond of playing cricket and was selected in the Under-23 category as a kid.

Irrfan developed interest in acting after his uncle who was an actor influenced him. He was a theater artist in Jodhpur. Irrfan started doing some stage performances in the city. He finished his MA in Jaipur before joining the National School of Drama in Delhi. The Pan Singh Tomar actor did some part time jobs like repairing to manage his expenses.

Irrfan’s first film was ‘Salaam Bombay’ as an actor though it was not a big role. The film was directed by Mira Nair. He got his first major break in Bollywood with the film ‘Rog’ in 2005. The actor was then noticed by many fans and critics for his noteworthy work.

Irrfan Khan’s Personal Life

He married his fellow NSD graduate and writer Sutapa Sikdar and the couple is blessed with 2 sons Babil and Ayan. Irfan was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2018. He got treatment in UK for about an year and come back India. Soon he was detected with another disease which occurred due to the cancer. ‘The Hindi Medium’ died on 29th April at the age of 53.
