New Delhi: Time magazine named Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, filmmaker SS Rajamouli, novelist Salman Rushdie, and television personality and judge Padma Lakshmi among the world’s 100 most important people for 2023. US President Joe Biden, King Charles, Syrian-born swimmers and campaigners Sara Mardini and Yusra Mardini, star icon Bella Hadid, millionaire CEO Elon Musk, and legendary singer and artist Beyonce are all on the list. According to SRK’s bio, written by fellow actor Deepika Padukone, “150 words can never do justice to the phenomenon that is Shah Rukh Khan for an individual who has known him personally and loves him deeply.”
“SRK will be remembered for the rest of his life as one of the greatest actors of all time,” Padukone remarked, adding, “but what truly distinguishes him is his mind, his chivalry, and his generosity. The list continues.”
Actor Alia Bhatt commented about Rajamouli, saying that the RRR director “knows the audience he’s serving.” He understands which rhythms to strike and which twists to make. I refer to him as the great storyteller because he actually enjoys the whimsy and abandon of storytelling. And he brings us all together,” Alia explained.
She went on to say that India is a vast nation with various demographics, preferences, and culture, but Rajamouli understands this and “unites us through his movies.” She remembered asking the RRR director for acting guidance, and he answered, “Whatever choice you make, do it with love.” Because even if the film fails, the viewers will feel admiration in your eyes for what you’re doing.”
