
Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, starring Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol recorded an impressive first weekend as it released alongside Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak last Friday.
Both films have created quite a buzz on social media platforms. The social-drama film has performed below expectation in its first-four days. Helmed by Raazi-famed director Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak, has minted Rs 19.02 crore in its opening weekend.
Sharing the box office figures of the film, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, “Tanhaji is unstoppable on Day 4… Collects in double digits, despite lower ticket rates at multiplexes on weekdays… Day 4 numbers are better than Day 1 at several centres… Fri 15.10 cr, Sat 20.57 cr, Sun 26.26 cr, Mon 13.75 cr. Total: ₹ 75.68 cr. #India biz.”

Despite caught between controversies, and the threat of boycotting the film after Deepika Padukone visited the JNU campus extending her support towards the student community a day ahead of the movie’s release, the film has received immensely a warm response.
