New Delhi: The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth, a new documentary based on the notorious Sheena Bora case, will stream globally on Netflix in February 2024. In 2015, media magnates Indrani and Peter Mukerjea were arrested in connection with a high-profile murder case, which was uncovered in the documentary series. This documentary will shed light on the notorious murder case that shocked Mumbai’s upper class.
An upcoming Netflix documentary claims to shed new light on the shocking death of Sheena Bora and the following 2015 arrest of Indrani Mukerjea, who is believed to have been Sheena’s mother.
Plot
Using previously unseen footage and other resources that illuminate the case, the crime documentary provides Indrani with an opportunity to convey her side of the tale. The series explores Indrani’s detention as well as rare family videos.
To provide a variety of viewpoints as it delves into the complex issue, the documentary incorporates interviews with several journalists who covered the story, as well as family records and films shot by Indrani.
When and Where to Watch?
The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth, which was directed by Uraaz Bahl and Shaana Levy, will be available on Netflix starting February 23, 2024. Months after the debut of Unbroken: The Untold Story, Indrani’s memoir detailing her six years behind bars, the series is set to be revealed.
This series investigates the circumstances behind the sad death of Sheena Bora, a 25-year-old woman, by going into detail about her disappearance.
Announcing the release date of the docu-series, Netflix India wrote on its Instagram account, “A sensational scandal that rocked the entire nation, with one family’s darkest secrets at the center of it all.

With the promise of revealing the hidden stories, the show also includes unsettling phone calls involving Rahul Mukerjea, Indrani, and Peter.
Original footage, voice messages, and photographs from 2012 are used in the series trailer. The world saw Sheena Bora, Indrani’s daughter, posed as her sister, and the accusations surfaced that she had abducted and murdered her.
