Watch: Aamir Khan mourns Dangal girl Suhani Bhatnagar’s untimely demise, pens emotional note

In her last Instagram post, which dates all the way back to November 25, 2021, the Dangal girl dropped her 4 sun-kissed pictures and wrote “November ?” in the caption.

New Delhi: Leaving her family, friends & the entire film industry in grief, Bollywood actress Suhani Bhatnagar shockingly passed away at 19 on 17 February 2024.

The late actress, who rose to fame after playing the role of Babita Phogat in Aamir Khan’s blockbuster flick Dangal (2016) earlier fractured her leg and underwent treatment for the same in Delhi’s AIIMS hospital for the last few days. However, due to a side effect that occurred during her treatment, fluids pilled up throughout her body leading to her untimely death at such a young age.

Mourning Suhani’s demise, Aamir Khan’s production house also issued an emotional statement through AK Productions’ official Twitter (Now X) handle in which the actor extended his heartfelt condolences to the actress’ parents & family.

The complete statement read.”We are deeply saddened to hear about our Suhani passing away. Our heartfelt condolences to her mother Poojaji, and the entire family. Such a talented young girl, and such a team player, Dangal would have been incomplete without Suhani. Suhani, you will always remain a star in our hearts. May you rest in peace.”

After receiving an overwhelmingly positive public response for her iconic performance in Dangal, Suhani was featured in a number of TV advertisements in the next few years. However, the actress later decided to solely focus on her studies & halted her acting career temporarily for the same. According to some reports, Suhani also wanted to step back into the film industry after completing her education but to her misfortune, destiny had some different plans for her.

Notably, unlike most Gen Z actresses, Suhani was also not active on her social media profiles for the last 2 years. In her last Instagram post, which dates all the way back to November 25, 2021, the Dangal girl dropped her 4 sun-kissed pictures and wrote “November ?” in the caption.

Her cremation ceremony will now be held in NCR’s Ajronda cremation ground, sector 15 Faridabad.
