New Delhi: It was a proud moment for India at the Golden Globe Awards 2023. The movie, after setting cash registers ringing at the Box office, won the top honours in the Best Original Song category.

And, the man who bagged the prestigious award for the acclaimed director Rajamouli & the movie RRR is MM Keeravani.

It was Keeravani’s Naatu Naatu song that won the award, leaving behind the likes of global pop stars including Lady Gaga.

MM Keeravani composed the Naatu Naatu song and picturized it on actors Jr NTR and Ram Charan.

It was a golden moment for the RRR team as the full team was seated in audience. The moment, its name was declared, the whole team erupted in joy & tears.


Keeravan was present at the award ceremony with his wife Srivalli.

Keeravani mentions wife in acceptance speech

The music composer made a heartwarming & moving speech after accepting the prestigious award at the ceremony.

RRR in its official handle, also shared a video, showing the emotional composer giving an impassioned speech. He also made a special mention for his wife in the acceptance speech.

MM Keeravani said, “I am very much overwhelmed with this great moment happening and I am very happy to share this excitement with my wife, who is sitting right there.”


As he mentioned about wife in speech, the crowd erupted in cheers. The famed composer also thanked the actors, Jr NTR and Ram Charan for their their electrifying dance moves in Naatu Naatu song.


Keeravani, the man who composed award winning song for RRR

MM Keeravani is a well-acclaimed music composer & lyricist whose has done many incredible work in Telugu cinema. Though, he has created music for movies across many industries including Hindi, Kannada, Tamil & Malyalam.

However, his claim to fame was when he composed song for Rajamouli’s epic movie Baahubali: The Beginning in 2015. He again gained worldwide recognition with his music for 2nd series – Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in 2017.


And, this time when he collaborated with the super-successful director for the movie RRR, he scripted history by bringing home the Golden Globe Award for best original score.

Keeravani’s career spanning 3 decades

Keeravani has had a long career spanning three decades. He has worked in more than 150 films till now, ranging from Kannada to Hindi film industry.

He started his career as a music composer in 1980s. He shot to limelight in 1990s with his notable work in Manasu Mamatha. Since then there was no looking back. He was won for Best Music Director.
