World Earth Day: Not for Publicity, these Bollywood celebs are real Eco-Warriors

As we celebrate World Earth Day, it is important to acknowledge those Bollywood celebrities who are actively engaged in the task of preserving the planet.

New Delhi: As the newer generation is becoming more and more environmentally conscious every day, it has almost become a greenwashing gimmick for many public figures to hype their negligible efforts for the conservation of the environment.

However, as we celebrate World Earth Day, it is important to acknowledge those Bollywood celebrities who are actively engaged in the task of preserving the planet.

1. Ajay Devgn

Ajay Devgn, along with his family, has been actively involved in various social causes including his efforts to promote renewable energy.

The Bhola actor aided the construction of a solar power plant in Gujarat’s Patan district.

2. Dia Mirza

Dia Mirza has extensively raised awareness about small things which can impact the health of our environment. As India’s UN Goodwill Ambassador, she has used her platform wisely. Besides this, Dia Mirza is also the face of the Wildlife Trust of India.

3. Bhumi Pednekar

Bhumi is all for the cause of healing and cleaning the Himalayas. On World Earth Day, Pednekar joined hands with a non-profit organization that works to save the ecology of the Himalayas.

Apart from this, the actress is also India’s UNDP Ambassador and has now been assigned the crucial role of Healing Himalayas Goodwill Ambassador.

4. Aamir Khan

Actress Producer Gul Panag followed in the steps of her grandfather to advocate for the cause of green energy. Her foundation The Col. Shamsher Singh works on a wide array of social issues, such as environmental preservation, gender equality, and addiction awareness.

In recent times, she has been a firm advocate for electronic vehicles.
