3 AAP legislators join Congress in Punjab, in presence of Captain Amarinder Singh

Ending days of speculation, Bholath MLA Sukhpal Khaira along with Bhadaur MLA Pirmal Singh and Maur MLA Jagdev Singh Kamalu joined Congress in presence of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s residence.

New Delhi: In a political crisis brewing for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab, 3 of its MLAs joined Congress party on Thursday.

Ending days of speculation, Bholath MLA Sukhpal Khaira along with Bhadaur MLA Pirmal Singh and Maur MLA Jagdev Singh Kamalu joined Congress in presence of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s residence. According to reports, voices of dissent in AAP’s Punjab unit has been rising for some time and party was struggling to keep its flock together.

Meanwhile, Punjab Congress itself is trying to resolve infighting in the Punjab unit. Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh is coming to Delhi today to meet the Congress committee.

“Since the All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge of Punjab, Harish Rawat, and state unit chief Sunil Jakhar are busy in the consultation process with the three-member committee in Delhi, their blessings will be sought in a few days,” a daily quoted chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh as saying.
