New Delhi: Days after Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti’s remarks over the Indian flag and Article 370, three leaders today quit People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir saying her remarks had “hurt patriotic sentiments”.

Recently, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said that she would not hoist the National Flag till the flag of Jammu and Kashmir’s flag and its constitution is restored. She also claimed that she is not interested to contest elections without getting Article 370 restored in the valley that was abrogated on 5Th August 2019.

On Saturday, the Peoples Alliance for the Gupkar Declaration that is fighting for the restoration of special status to Jammu and Kashmir met in Srinagar and named National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah as its chairman and Mehbooba Mufti as its deputy chairperson.

Abdullah asserted that the seven-party alliance is an anti-BJP platform and not an anti-national grouping.
