Akhilesh & Rajbhar end alliance; Samajwadi Party says free to leave, latter accepts ‘talaq’

In the letter shared on Samjawadi Party’s twitter handle, the party said, “Rajbhar ji & Shivpal ji, if you think you will be given more respect elsewhere, you are free to leave.”

New Delhi: Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP) today issued an open letter to its coalition partner Om Prakash Rajbhar-led Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) and said that he was free to leave the alliance if he is being given more respect elsewhere. The Opposition party, in a press statement, also dropped enough hints of snapping ties with uncle Shivpal Yadav.

In the letter shared on Samjawadi Party’s twitter handle, the party said, “Rajbhar ji & Shivpal ji, if you think you will be given more respect elsewhere, you are free to leave.”

The development comes in the backdrop of SBSP chief Rajbhar breaking ranks with the Akhilesh’s SP and opting for NDA’s presidential nominee Droupadi Murmu. Soon after this, BJP-led government obliged him by giving the Y security cover and Rajbhar is not complaining. Shivpal Yadav also voted for NDA nominee.

Rajbhar accepts ‘talaq’ with Akhilesh

After the SP letter created flutter in political circles, Rajbhar, when enquired by press, was quick to announce separation with the Samajwadis.

“Akhilesh gave us talaq, we accept the talaq. Talaq kubool hai,” he told press.

Rajbhar also accused Akhilesh of ignoring & betraying the backward communities. He said that he urged the SP chief to field candidates from most backward communities but the latter didn’t listen.

Uncle Shivpal Yadav has also been not on good terms with Akhilesh. The chacha-bhatija duo came together for 2022 polls but after poll loss, have been critical of each other. Shivpal took strong objection to party’s decision to support Yashwant Sinha in the Presidential elections race.

SP’s terse letter to Rajbhar

In its letter shared on Twitter handle, the SP accused the Rajbhar camp of aligning with the BJP and working to strengthen it.
