New Delhi: Hours after Punjab Police arrested Daljeet Singh Kalsi alias Sarabjeet Singh Kalsi, an alleged advisor and financer of Amritpal Singh, the government said that it has suspended the mobile Internet and SMS services in the territorial jurisdiction of Punjab till March 20 (12:00 hours).

According to sources, Daljeet Singh Kalsi alias Sarabjeet Singh Kalsi an alleged advisor and financer of Amritpal Singh was arrested by the authorities.

This comes after Punjab police launched a massive crackdown on Saturday against the ‘Waris De Punjab’ chief.

On Sunday morning, the police personnel were deployed outside Amritpal Singh’s residence in Amritsar’s Jallupur Khera village and security was also enhanced across the state as the Khalistani sympathiser outfit chief is currently on the run.

The Jalandhar Commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal on Saturday confirmed that the radical leader had been declared a “fugitive”.

Jalandhar CP KS Chahal said that Amritpal Singh was chased by the police for about 20-25 kms but he escaped the arrest. He said that ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh will be arrested soon.
