Another UP gangster killed after police car overturns while bringing him from Mumbai to Lucknow
Uttar Pradesh Police car carrying gangster Feroz Ali, who was absconding for six years, met with a road accident and overturned in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district. The accused died on the spot.
New Delhi: A wanted gangster from Uttar Pradesh died after a car belonging to a Lucknow police team overturned in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district, 214 km north of Bhopal. The UP Police team was escorting gangster Feroz Ali to Lucknow from Mumbai. A relative of the gangster was also accompanying the police for identification purposes.
The incident had a striking resemblance to the manner in which UP police’s car overturned near Kanpur while bringing back gangster Vikas Dubey. He was subsequently killed in an encounter when he tried to flee.
Jagdish Prasad Pandey told the police officers that a cow had suddenly appeared on the road and to save it, they swerved. As a result, the driver lost control and the car overturned. However, some people on the spot said that the driver was napping when the accident took place.
Ali was rushed to a hospital in Biaora town of Rajgrah district where doctors declared him “brought dead”.
Three policemen, including a family of the accused, were also injured in the accident that took place at around 6 am on Sunday on Gwalior-Betul National Highway near Jogipura Toll under Chanchoda police station limits.
Gangster Feroz Khan was booked in 2014 under the UP Gangster Act and was absconding since the case was registered.
UP Police got information that Feroz was living in Nala Sopara area in Mumbai. A police team from UP arrested Feroz’s brother-in-law Afzal and then Feroz in Mumbai. The police team was taking them to Lucknow from Mumbai when the accident took place.
Earlier, UP gangster Vikas Dubey, who was detained from Mahakaal temple in Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, was killed in, what the UP police said, an encounter after the car in which he was travelling overturned near Kanpur. Dubey had been handed over to UP police at UP-MP border near Lalitpur after he was detained at Mahakal temple by MP police.
After the encounter, UP police said Vikas Dubey made an attempt to flee the spot after snatching the revolver of a police officer when he was killed in the encounter.
