Bengal SSC Scam: ED recovers huge cash from Arpita Mukherjee’s another flat; counting begins

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recovered a huge amount of cash from Arpita Mukherjee’s another flat, located at Belharia Town Club in West Bengal.

New Delhi: In the latest development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) recovered a huge amount of cash from Arpita Mukherjee’s another flat, located at Belharia Town Club in West Bengal. Notably, Mukherjee is a close aide of West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee.

It is reported that the cash counting machine has also been shifted to the location to count the cash soon. It is expected that the amount is bigger than the previous recovery when the agency found Rs 21 crore cash from one of her residential premises in Kolkata.

The media reports also suggest the probe agency also seized cash, gold ornaments, gold bars, property deeds and property-related documents.

Notably, the ED arrested Arpita Mukherjee on July 23 a day after the recovery of cash worth over Rs 21 crore from her residence.

However, the duo have been remanded to ED custody till August 3. Before the remand, Partha Chatterjee was brought to Kolkata from Odisha’s Bhubaneswar AIIMS on Monday. After the WB leader arrived in Kolkata, he was straightaway taken to the ED office at the CGO complex in Kolkata for questioning.
