BJP candidate Dinesh Sharma files nomination for the Rajya Sabha seat in the presence of CM Yogi

Along with CM Yogi, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, and the party’s state president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary were present during the filing of the nomination. Dr Dinesh Sharma is likely to be elected unopposed in the by-election.

Lucknow: As BJP candidate Dr Dinesh Sharma filed his nomination for the by-election to the Rajya Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh, which went vacant in June after the demise of BJP MP Hardwar Dubey, in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for nominating Sharma for the post.

Addressing party officials and workers at the BJP headquarters on the occasion, CM Yogi said: “Today is Teacher’s Day and on this occasion, Dinesh Sharma, a teacher, is going to file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha by-election. While congratulating all of you on Teacher’s Day, I congratulate him also from the bottom of my heart.”

Along with CM Yogi, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, and the party’s state president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary were present during the filing of the nomination. Dr Dinesh Sharma is likely to be elected unopposed in the by-election.

CM Yogi commended Dinesh Sharma for his outstanding work in various capacities within the organization, both as a regular party worker and as the National Vice President of the party. He also acknowledged Dinesh Sharma’s excellent work as the Mayor of Lucknow.

The Chief Minister further said, “Between 2017 and 2022, after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Sharma carried out the responsibilities of the Deputy Chief Minister along with overseeing the departments of Secondary and Higher Education, Science and Technology, Electronics and IT. During this period, he took significant steps to improve the education sector as well.”

CM Yogi mentioned that Dr Sharma has always been connected with the values and principles of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

The Chief Minister said, “On this occasion, I express my gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President JP Nadda, along with the entire Union Cabinet and the party, for nominating Dr. Dinesh Sharma a Rajya Sabha candidate.”
