The painting in questing was available the platform and came up on searches under the Janmashtami sale on August 18 and 19

New Delhi: On Friday, a religious organization called Hindu Janajagruti Samiti filed a complaint against e-commerce giant Amazon Subramanya Nagar police station at Bengaluru.

The organization claimed that the site has been selling ‘obscene’ painting of Lord Krishna and Radha, which was ‘quietly’ removed from their portal following the uproar.

“Members of @HinduJagrutiOrg submitted a memorandum to the Police Inspector, Subramanya Nagar Bengaluru, requesting action against @amazonIN for selling obscene painting of Lord Krishna with Radha on their website”, the group informed via Twitter.

The painting in questing here was available by Exotic India on the platform and came up on searches under the Janmashtami sale on August 18 and 19.

“But this (removal of painting) is not enough. Both Amazon and Exotic India must tender unconditional apology and pledge not to hurt sentiments of Hindus ever again”, the organization said in a later tweet.

Since Friday morning, ‘Boycott Amazon’ has been trending on top on the microblogging site Twitter with users pouring outrage against the online shopping website.
